Current Irons, Over-designed at the cost of experience
Many irons look overly powerful, making them feel more like machines than household object.
Taking Inspiration from Simple, Ritualistic Objects
Less machine, more human. Being inspired by ritualistic objects, Nomu is reduced to its essence, emphasizing the mindfulness of the activity itself rather than the product.
How might we simplify the iron,
redefining the experience as a ritual?
Nomu
A focus on the Experience not the Product
An Honest Expression
Taking inspiration from simple ritualistic objects, Nomu doesn't overstates its power and value. Rather, it is an honest expression of its function, leaving room for the user.
Clarity in Communication
Reducing the design to its essential features, it is easy to understand its function and role. This allows for clear communication between user and product, so that users are mindful of the experience.
Unobtrusive to its Environment
Respecting the space it inhabits, the design creates harmony between product and environment. No longer hidden away, its quiet presence invites everyday use.
Back to Simplicity
Ironing has had a long history of self-presentation and care. Nomu's design revives that tradition, turning a rushed chore into a mindful act of attention
